Valencia. Dancing, Calatrava and... the markets! Merkats Central and Colon

Reading my blogs means reading about markets. Pref. the covered ones.
We scored two today: the Mercado (Castillian) / Merkat (Catalunian) Central and the Merkat Colon.

The Central Market is a very beautiful building and a very large market hall that caters for the tourists as well. Not the fishmongers in a seperate wing, not the meat sellers near the edges but certainly a lot of stalls in the middle: smooties, horchata (oxata in Catalunian), ham sandwiches and all sorts of salts, vinegars and oils.

The Merkat Colon is not even a market anymore. The building - again a beautiful and slender cast iron structure - still exists and is succesfully converted into a central square with bars and little restaurants at the sides. They all cater for vegetarians and other food-conscious people.
