Where to start - with the incredible amount of Michelin stars in San Sebastián? Three three-starred restaurants in one city?
Or with a dear wish of mine: to once in my lifetime eat in one of these restaurants.
Pref. in the restaurant of Martín Berasategui, my age, owner of two three starred restaurants, one two-starred and a couple more.
25 years ago he obtained his third Michelin star for his restaurant in Lasarte-Oria, a place near San Sebastián. Hence his 25th anniversary Tasting Menu. Small bites or three or four spoonfuls of his light and airy and ever so tasty signature dishes.
We had the Tasting Menu and celebrated too. We celebrated life.
Four hours long, seated on the terrace, under a parasol because of the blazing summer sun, views across a quiet, luscious green hilly landscape
and the food,
the food.
You have no idea food can taste so good.
A mind- and tastebud blowing experience.
