A la recherche du temps perdu. Latouille: le Moulin de Ferray

This is a blog for my family.

A great-uncle of mine owned, many many years ago, a mill in the Quercy (departement Lot):
le Moulin de Ferray.
It remained in the family for over half a century.

Each summer family and friends gathered here - generations grew up spending their holidays in this beautiful part of France. We all lovingly remember our aunt, mother and (great-)grandmother Nars, who welcomed each and everyone who wanted to come and stay.

The mill - the 'grote molen', the outhouses - the 'kleine molen', the 'porcherie' - the pond, the streams - they are still there but the little valley has been unoccupied for years now. It's such a pity - it was such a wonderful place, but now the buildings that were once full of life are empty and the valley is overgrown with weeds.

On our way back from Spain we visited the place, now a proprieté privée and roped off.
I made some pictures.

Remember the good days.

Ik heb als dank voor de tijd die ik hier heb doorgebracht - en uit ons aller naam - een bosje fluitekruid in het slot van de deur gestoken. Hartstikke sentimenteel ben ik, ja ;)
