The Jurassic Coast

I'm a huge fan of the BBC Coast series.
Remember the introduction? The most spectacular sites of the British coastline? When the camera sweeps over the famous white cliffs?
We didn't see the Dover ones this time (we took the Dieppe-Newhaven ferry), we visited the Jurassic Coast.
Erm?

' The Jurassic Coast is a stretch of beaches starting at east Devon and ending way into Dorset' .
Well, you all know now where to find this part of the British coast now, don't you. We were clueless too, and felt pretty stupid. After seeing all these Coast episodes...

Anyway, we finally saw IRL one of the most spectacular cliff formations: Harry's head near Swanage, and Durdle's Door west of this charming sea side resort.
Not in the bright and sunny daylight we had had for days on end while staying in Bournemouth, but in an eery, other worldly sea mist sort of atmosphere that so matched the Jurassic Coast feel.
No tourists, no nothing - an unreal place in an unreal time.
Weird, but very beautiful.
