For those who've been in las Vegas: O-M-G is about the reaction when you see it for the first time, right?
And for those who haven't been there (yet): I hope this will be your thoughts when seeing the pics of this gambling city, because then we've been able to communicate our own impressions!
OMG just about covers it all. Las Vegas is amazing, hilarious, gross, extravagant, vulgar, chique, horrifying, over the top and absolute fun.
It's millions of dollars invested to get billions of dollars profit.
Btw, one of the most glam one's is the MGM Grand, you might have heard of it.
So that's MGM owned.
As it happens, like at least half of the Strip. Plus some casino's in Hong Kong, Macau and other gambling pits in the world.
So this company that is big in movies is also seriously into gambling - oh well, as Pieter said, shrugging, it's all about amusement, right?
Yes. Well, erm, yes.
At first we walked around as if we had landed on a completely new planet.
Then we mainly noticed the difference between the opulent casino's and the public that came there to gamble.
Then we wanted to get OUT of the city and go wherever, as long as it was quiet and empty.
We were so exhausted after a day 'doing' las Vegas that we ended up in a really crappy motel (like in really crappy, and way overpriced). But we slept, and apparently we were so tired and so full of impressions that we don't even remember the place now, hardly a week later.
I'll show you what I mean.
Please note: the first batch is only the Strip, ie the outside. Next is inside, and third is the Venetian. This casino was so extraordinary that I'll post pics of it in an extra blog.
My, you have NO idea what Civilisation is capable of if you haven't seen las Vegas.
