Many wished us to see the Arizona desert in bloom.
Officially we were too early for it, but due to december rains the first blossoming of the desert - a blanket of tiny white flowers - was already gone.
But thanks to these early rains we saw the second blooming of the desert; the 'other' colours: the yellows, the pinks, and the reds.
It's amazing to see how much life and colour there is in a place as dry as this!
(nb: the first photo, the yellow coloured shrub, is the creosote bush. Scratch one of it's branches and you smell tarry, smokey creosote).
