There's a cafe in France were you can dance. On a dance organ!

We're deep into ballroom dancing - well, you must know about that by now 😁

By lucky chance - long story - we found out there's a cafe in 'deepest French countryside' where you can dance on music played by dance organs.

Hm, you might not know about this special phenomenon. See my photos, a bit hard to explain..
In Holland we have a tradition of small mechanical organs that play uptempo tunes on the street, just for the fun of passers-by.
In Belgium they've taken the organ to a higher, hence bigger, level: they built organs 8m wide and 3 m high. They're called dance organs and they were highly popular when people still came together to dance.

Now this cafe in France, just across the Belgium border. Every Sunday the floor is open to dance. They haven't got one of these huge organ but three (!) and they successively play upbeat four beat music. Think Quicksteps, Tangos and Slow Foxes.
We were there on Quatorze Juillet. We danced for two hours and had the time of our lives.
Never done someting this weird - no: this special!
