African shops on African streets

Wherever I am I want to visit the local market.
I very much hoped I could see at least one in the Gambia (i.e. hoped I could escape the confines of the resort!).
On the way from the airport to our hotel I realised there was more than 'a market' that was mighty interesting: there were the shops that lined the streets. Every street. A sight for sore eyes!
Unlike anything we'd seen. This was Africa and we loved it.
Of the many, many photos I took here's a selection.

PS: the onions, stacked in red netting with golden labels, come from Holland.
All the onions in the Gambia do. As do most of the eggs. And the milk. I do not know of any Gambian export to Holland, btw.
