An evening stroll along the Dutch coast

All of a sudden lovely warm days and a glorious sunset: time to put on our hiking boots and head for the beach. Algae, sunlight, the vastness of sand and sea: you can hardly imagine this is the beach near one of the main cities in Holland.

Halfway we found a couple of Theo Janssens' Beach Animals tethered. They're fascinating and I'll blog about them seperately one day. For now: see what we saw on a weekday evening in the spring.

An afternoon in Paris

Back in Paris, for a couple of days only.
Longings for a lunch, a dinner in a Brasserie, longings for the streets and scents of this beautiful city.

We took the train not-to-early one weekday and arrived in Paris before lunch. Our first Brasserie, my first choucroute de mer. A crisp, white, French wine.
We went to Le Retro to dance, a wonderful experience, unfortunately I haven't got pics of that, but I promise I'll get back and take some.

We strolled the city morning, midday, evening. Finally visited the Louvre. Dined at another wonderful restaurant. We promised ourselves to come back again, at least once a year.
Only a couple of days - we were ever so happy.
I love this city!

Liège insolite et secret

For us, Liège (or as it is called in Holland: Luik) is the nearest French speaking city.
For us, 'French' means good food.

So we headed for Liège to relax for a couple of days and eat to our hearts' content.
Relax and eat we did, and in the meantime we saw a part of the city we hadn't really expected: green, intimate, charming.
See some pics!
